A New Chapter!

Over the past 6 plus years, I have met many people who found our fun little bookstore and coffee shop either by chance, by plans or by their friends or family. Maybe they found us for the love of books, coffee and good talk!

There have also been shoppers who have crossed the entrance of our Chapters on Main from Germany, Australia, England and Russia! Probably other countries that I don't recall. We have had conversations with many from other states, who have loved our space the minute they walked in the door. In fact it reminded many of times gone by, those of younger years and some even commented that our store reminded them of a Hallmark movie!

For all the days that I've spent planning events, making certain that the right people were in the right places to take care of our customers, that our recipes and coffee that was served was "perfect or we'd remake it" and to bring happiness to those customers who came one time or came often, I am forever grateful!

But much like is written in

we all live through seasons.

"For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest."

The past almost seven years has been a harvest of opportunities to help in growing not just Chapters on Main, but a part of our community.

On October 12 of this past Fall, Alan and I were suppose to be gone on a trip in our RV through Tennessee and Virginia. As it happened, one of the jacks on our RV broke and prohibited us this trip. So while Alan was trying to find a fix, I decided to be at Chapters since there was a scheduled 400 on the passenger train that day. As always, I spent most of the morning greeting customers and visiting with regulars that I hadn't seen in a while.

Then the train arrived and with it came a large group of new potential customers across Main Street and into our store.

One of those was a Mom and daughter on an adventure celebrating a birthday. I met the daughter, Bekah, as she was getting ready to order some coffee and had a box of Onyx coffees to take home.

She introduced me to her Mom, Alison who joined us from the rare books section asking if I was the owner. After my reply she quickly said "this place is my dream"!

The last two months we have been making plans to make that dream come true!

I hope you will stop in and meet

Alison Goodwin, the new owner of Chapters on Main with continued kindness and support you, our community, have shown us over the past years!

She said she plans on not making any changes but business as usual here at Chapters, even though I think she will be great at making what we started an even greater place to be!

As for Alan and myself, well, we have plans to make many more RV trips that you will no doubt see on my facebook page or Instagram, or maybe even TikTok if I venture out a bit!

But make no mistake...we won't be gone all of the time and when we are home, you can bet I will be bugging my all time favorite baristas and having an Apple Chaider Latte or a Salted Caramel Latte with a new book in my hands sitting somewhere very familiar!

Thanks for a great ride!
