by Holly Black
Review by: Malachi Westbrook
King of Elfhame is a YA Fantasy novella that is a continuation into parts of The Folk of the Air Trilogy (The Cruel Prince). This book gives more insight into Cardan’s perspective and backstory. This review will not contain spoilers for this book but may have spoilers for other books in this series.
I chose this book because I was dying to learn more about Cardan and Jude. I loved their stories in The Folk of the Air Trilogy and wanted more. Additionally, this book is beautiful! I really enjoyed this read and think it was done well. It was a very fast read as it is so short but every chapter was so good. I loved getting more information about Cardan and seeing things from his perspective. This is book 3.5 in the series and should be read after the completion of Queen of Nothing. My Likes: - The beautiful artwork throughout.
-More backstory to Cardan and his childhood.
-The continuation of one of my favorite series.
My Dislikes: - How short it was! I want more!!
Overall, I loved this book. I would recommend this book to anyone likes Fantasy and has read The Cruel Prince. I landed at a five-star rating because I really enjoyed it and was left wanting more. I can see myself rereading this entire series in the future and hope that Holly Black does not leave this world for good!
